My family are staunch Catholics.
My whole schooling was in Catholic schools.
I was alter boy from age 4-14 then managed to bail out altogether from going to Mass. It bored me stupid. But my belief in a God has never been in doubt however.
I had a number of Crucifixes and Rosary Beads that had been with me for years. As an adult I discovered Buddhism.
Buddha is spot on. And his take or leave attitude jived with my mind. I have a number of Buddha statues dotted about my house which help keep my mind focussed and straightened.Anyway when wifey and I separated I ended up in rages and turned all my anger towards God. Blaming him for the s~~~ storm and all that it brought.
Subsequently in those many rages I destroyed my Crufixes and Rosaries. Much to my regret.
Out of contrition I bought more. Broke those too.My brother visited and noticed missing Crucifixes etc.
He asked what happened and I told him.
So he asked why the Buddhas were not broken and I said because Buddha hasn’t done anything bad to me.My brother replied ‘Neither has God’.
Bastard opened my eyes right there.
So now I take ownership of what happens and control what I can.Lessons daily. Just thought I would share that with you.

No I don’t believe I will meet Buddha. He was just a man.
As for God. I don’t know if I’ll meet him. Not a problem I have to worry about right now tho.The object of life is not to be on the side of the majority, but to escape, finding oneself in the ranks of the insane. Marcus Aurelius

Anonymous42It’s up to God to author my faith. I’m just here for his rope tow instead of a struggle climbing…
Cool story, DocDJ.
Your brother is right, God didn’t do anything to you except to animate the life force that sustains you.
Every time I speak with an ex-believer or a lost soul I hear the same misguided blames on God.
The classic one is:
” If God exists he wouldn’t let children die. ”
To which I respond:
” Children suffer and die due to three main causes. First, children suffer and die due to pestilence and disease enabled when the Lord cursed the ground after Adam and Eve sinned. He banished Adam and Eve from the Garden of Eden, thus barring humans from the rejuvenating power of the Tree of Life. God warned Adam and Eve that if they ate from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, “you will surely die” (Gen. 2:17), and He didn’t add “at a ripe old age of natural causes.” He just said, “You will surely die,” and we’ve been attending funerals ever since.
Second, children also suffer and die because of the mistakes and sins of others, such as leaving a pool gate unsecured, drunk driving, murder, and so on.
Third, children suffer and die because natural laws work in regular ways: the gravity that keeps us on planet Earth also enables fatal falls; the fire that warms also burns; the water in which we swim can also drown.”There is ORDER in the universe – challenged daily by Lucifer and his fallen ones – and God, as the Master, has made certain decrees that cannot be counteracted.
Man evolves and changes according to his own comprehension of the world around him and – hopefully – to the Word of the Creator – but God has never changed from the beginning, He’s the same yesterday today and forever, a rock upon which Man can rest and take strength from.Don't let them Blame, Shame or Tame you!
Give 'em NOTHING, not even an answer!
#GenderSegragationNow!There is ORDER in the universe
“Cosmos is a Greek word for the order of the universe. It is, in a way, the opposite of Chaos. It implies the deep interconnectedness of all things. It conveys awe for the intricate and subtle way in which the universe is put together.”
― Carl Sagan, Cosmos
In a World of Justin Beibers Be a Johnny Cash
Great Post Untamed. You are right.
In times of pain we turn to God and wrongly blame him for not stepping in to help. When s~~~ went south with wifey it was the end of the world.
Thing was – deep down I knew I was getting a better deal being alone.
I still blamed God tho.
Then I stopped after the comments my brother made.
Now I think God was actually looking out for me ending my marriage.I am a much better person now. Far from perfect but better.

I like that.

Anonymous42To anyone that doesn’t question who is God or his motives I say look the other way and ask yourself who is Satan? Is there evil? What is evil?
Right now, everyone’s under a spell from the war between Evil and Good, traumatized and numb to our spiritual vision, where one must differentiate and minimize involvment and exposure the that which is evil, otherwise you’re sure to be injured.
Men loosing all control and power over females and their nature has made any union between the two absolutely unacceptable, exposing the man to evil and the woman to un-accountability with rewards of cash and prized for being no good by nature and released to roam on their own accord and liberated from men forever.
The facts are in and go back to the beginning of time, Women are the downfall of men.
Better off alone…
P.S. Thank great great Grandpa Cuck Mangina for granting great great Grandma Feminist everything she wanted, same as it is today!
They’re always wanting and always demanding while Cuck the assf~~~ and Jerry Mangina concede to indentured servitude with slavery living conditions.
Anyone that’s stupid enough to agree to this “NEW” arrangement should load a .357 magnum, crush the handle in a vice, give it a blowjob and pull the f~~~ing trigger!
God, Buddha, allah, we should pray they don’t exist…
Only sinners happy with their sins should pray that God doesn’t exist. But then again, who would they pray to? Mikey Mouse?
The rest of us know that we will be held accountable for the s~~~ we may do down here and we pray to the Almighty for His mercy and grace.Don't let them Blame, Shame or Tame you!

My brother replied ‘Neither has God’.
Amazing how even people who don’t believe in God still manage to blame him for all their s~~~. Ironic really, considering you wouldn’t even exist without God.
I think humans in general tend to view God the same way women view men: “If he’s not doing everything exactly the way I want when I want how I want then he’s oppressing me!”
Women are better at multitasking? Fucking up several things at once is not multitasking.

I agree. And that was how I viewed it. God was oppressing me in my view so I blamed him.
When my brother pointed out a God wasn’t st fault hearing him say it out loud made me realise that. Both my brother and I beleive in God BTW.

…….
Just rolling down the road
As for God. I don’t know if I’ll meet him. Not a problem I have to worry about right now tho.
But as every Christian knows, you have to be ready every day in case you do meet him. None of us is sure of waking up tomorrow, are we ready to be before God now?
Mark 13 says:
32 “But about that day or hour no one knows, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 33 Be on guard! Be alert! You do not know when that time will come. 34 It’s like a man going away: He leaves his house and puts his servants in charge, each with their assigned task, and tells the one at the door to keep watch.
35 “Therefore keep watch because you do not know when the owner of the house will come back—whether in the evening, or at midnight, or when the rooster crows, or at dawn. 36 If he comes suddenly, do not let him find you sleeping. 37 What I say to you, I say to everyone: ‘Watch!’”The stoics taught similar, even though they were pagans. Epictetus said you should face the prospect of your own death everyday, that way you wouldn’t get attached to ‘externals’ and your ‘impressions’ of them – you wouldn’t get attached to lusts, hoarding, things that make you unhappy. Buddhism teaches the individual to let go of earthly desires.
All these things are interconnected, each aspires to something that transcends the flesh and this earthly existence.
excellent thread.
