Arrogant, careless, self-entitled, just plain too lazy to check up on the local laws, just plain too lazy to get a prescription legally — low IQ need not be a factor, but she is not exhibiting the traits that get a person to a top spot in an executive hierarchy by getting herself arrested for that.

By the way, what was the shipper up to? Was it a legitimate drug sales and exporter? I don’t think so. I think exporters are supposed to know the laws at both ends of the deal.

My guess is she knew very well she was skirting the law and gave it a go to feed an addiction she did not have the strength of character to shake off.

As someone who lives in Asia, I can tell you that the cultures here have their hangups about certain western things, painkillers being one of the them. I fractured my foot and had to have a cast put on it. The doc was less than gentle and I made the cultural taboo of moaning in pain. People here think you should suffer pain very stoically and quietly. And then there’s all the mess about traditional medicine, which can be very hokey. However the slightest illness or period people call in sick and bellyache, even for a headache. Many can also be sissies when it comes to exercise or heat. “Oh it’s July and the sun is shining and it’s hot. How can we go outside?”
