All of these explanations makes sense. It also makes sense that different women are going to have different reasons, although there is obviously some commonality.
I would add that women are not typically taught to accept rejection and defeat as children the same way boys are. Not all boys are in sports, we are virtually all taught to compete in some way or another. When we fail, we are told to be good sports and shake the hand of the guy who beat you. If a boy throws a fit and whines we loses in little league, there will be punishment. Little girls are taught that whining and complaining gets them what they want.
Really though, I don’t know that there is too much value in finding an answer to the question. Say you figure it out, you couldn’t even help her out in dealing with rejection since that would be mansplaining. As a man, you really shouldn’t base your decision to have or not have sex based on how well she’s going to deal with rejection.

Thing is, modern Western women just get sex outside of marriage. Men either would refuse to do that in the past, or society would stone adulterers to death. What? The absolute best, most successful businessmen and athletes I’ve seen all throw a fit if they lost at anything, and absolutely go nuts. Michael Jordan would beat up his teammates, talk non-stop s~~~, and then go gamble tons of money away to get over losses.
