    Russia, 1993. a diesel-electric lovomotive TEP80 sets a world speed record for fuel-electric rail vehicles – 271 km/h (168 mph). It stays unbeaten.

    It’s familiar feeling to me because my old-timer has a herd of horses under the hood and good torque. I like the Goliath – a real dieselpunk stuff!

    That train is pretty damn fast but I can’t think of anywhere I need to go to get there that fast.

    Many countries have high-speed modern electric trains which are twice faster than this one. I saw the Chinese fastest train and it’s awesome. If you were lived here you would change your mind. It’s a big problem here to reach a destination point by land (takes plenty of time). Unfortunately we are seriously lagging in technologies. Corruption eats everything.
