NFL owners, during a meeting Tuesday, reportedly considered a new punishment for players who choose to kneel during the national anthem: a 15-yard penalty against the team.

Under the proposal, the home team would decide whether both sides should be on the field during the Star Spangled Banner — and if so, 15-yard penalties could be handed out if anyone kneels.

——–Someone send the NFL a note, to little to late the fans have left the stadium.

We had our own Race protest with Australian Football a few years back, it dragged on for a couple of years from memory and the footballer who started it couldn’t cope with the angry response from people who resented him bringing his bulls~~~ into the game.

As with the NFL people also walked away from the AFL. Everything has become about politics now. People just want to unwind and enjoy the game they are into. Seeing millionaire’s being p~~~ed off because they claim to be hard done by is a little difficult to stomach.

15 yards? that’s the value the NFL places on the men and women who have fought and died to maintain the freedom that allows them to make such a retarded decision. Also what happens if multiple players kneel? do the penalties stack? or cancel out?

A real penalty would be for any player kneeling during the anthem to be removed from the game and banned for the rest of the season, with their club being fined an amount equal to the player’s annual salary, then you would see this s~~~ stop right quick, but as you say the time for that was 2 years ago, the damage is done.

The NFL has p~~~ed off it’s target bill payers. For the sport this might be as bad as the baseball strike in the late 90’s.

When these guys participate in partisan bickering. They forget that they are entertainers first.

These dumb asses think they’re the same as Mohammed Ali. Fighting whitey trying to make them dance to his tune.

They fail to realize they have almost nothing in common with the predicament Mohammed Ali was placed in. They’re crybaby millionaires.

Give your tv the 15 yard penalty and the problem is solved.

I don’t get it. This is such a non issue and people insist on turning into a political football! It’s so stupid! Who cares if they kneel? That’s what freedom of speech is all about! They aren’t protesting the anthem.

Why do people have to go in on such petty issues? Is it just me? Am I the crazy dissenting voice? I just don’t feel this should be a major issue of our time…

Freedom of speech should happen outside of the workplace. Football is their job and they make quite a bit of money doing it. I would not be allowed to make such a spectacle at my job and neither should they. Doing something similar could easily get me fired.

They are there to work and do their jobs not use the stadium as a venue to voice their political opinions. Overpaid emotional c~~~s whining about bulls~~~ is what they are.

The evil in women’s hearts leaves them no moral bounds as to inhibit them from descending to the lowest levels of darkness to acquire their self entitled desires.

There it is in a nutsack.
I for one am no longer entertained by the antics of the “entertainment” industry. Which is all politics, news. entertainment, and “society” has become.
A failed circus of unfunny clowns and moldy bread.

The NFL owns the broadcast rights.
Require the network cameramen to focus ONLY on the flag or Anthem singer during the 75 seconds of the Anthem (close-ups). Split screen between the two would be okay, too. For the final note, filming the aircraft flyover is okay. Restrict the cameramen to those items ONLY.

Take away the “event” of the kneeling, and take away the “audience” the kneelers are looking for. Restrict the cameramen…not the players.

If you try to restrict the players, the only ones getting rich will be the lawyers. Don’t give the lawyers any more money.

The 15-yard penalty only serves to make the “event” bigger. That’s the OPPOSITE of what needs to happen.
