One year ago I decided that enough was enough and finally quit smoking. Not only smoking but chewing and all other forms. Almost 10 years of my life was of and on with using some form of tobacco. If anyone is having problems quitting I know the struggles. Like Doc Brown once said “If you put your mind to it you can accomplish anything”

More power to you. It’s hard to quit.

I had a co-worker years ago who quit cold turkey. We wore respirators at our clients’ sites occasionally and had to get pulmonary checks every 6 months. He’d watched his lung capacity drop with every check, decided to quit, and stopped cold turkey for several months. One day we met in the office after different road trips and stepped for lunch to catch up. I was surprised when he lit up at the table. (That’s how long ago this was, you could smoke in restaurants.) I asked him what had happened.

He told me he had been watching a game at his local bar when a guy next to him lit up. The next thing he knew he’d bummed a cigarette from the guy, bought a pack in the bar’s machine, and bought a carton on the way home.

My co-worker quit again a few weeks later and that time it stuck, but it’s hard to quit.

Do not date. Do not impregnate. Do not co-habitate. Above all, do not marry. Reclaim and never again surrender your personal sovereignty.

@wizteknet as I look back all the times when I smoked or used was during the times I had a lot of stress in my life, and most of the stress was caused by a woman.

Practice makes perfect, it took me a few attempts over a couple year span, to this day I call it March Madness 1992, now the smell of smokers breath makes me want to puke, and the smell of burning tobacco drives me to fresh air, on one cruise I went on, so many people were smoking in the dinning area that I went topside for some fast food, instead of wanting to puke on my dinner plate! Tobacco is NASTY!

Well done brother. Keep up the great job!

She's not looking for love. She's looking for someone to finance the lifestyle that SHE thinks SHE deserves.

I quit smoking for 7 years in a vain attempt to please my soon to be ex-wife. Now that shes gone, I smoke again and now I’m happy : ) Word of caution….. don’t use Chantix unless you think being chased by T-Rex dinosaurs trying to eat you, lightning bolts trying to fry your ass, and tornadoes chasing you down big city streets in your sleep sounds amusing. That drug will mess up you’re sleep patterns with nightmares the likes of which you wouldn’t believe. I used it for a month and it nearly killed me. I was able to quit cold turkey several months later.

If you keep most of the unnecessary stress out of your life, then there is little to no chance of a relapse. But either way bloody good job on breaking the cycle.

A MGTOW is a man who is not a woman's bitch!
