I am really curious about Herbivore history. They were trailblazers, so there must be something we could learn from them, no?
Or are Japanese so crazy that you can’t draw any parallels between Herbivores and MGTOW?

There must be something they did / haven’t done that we could avoid or repeat
If there is something we could learn from them – we should.
Could anyone comment on this?

I think what one would learn would depend on what one needs to learn, and tactics from them as needed.

On top of having to work 60-80 hours a week, on the end of the month ALL the income goes to the wife, and the husband would take an “allowance” (and for what I heard, such allowance were around 200 bucks). If you add this to the fact that Japan has a culture where PDA are dicourage, and the nagging nature of women (with some saying that japanese women are even WORSE on tha department) you can see that they didn’t need divorce rate to go herbivore. A married life was hell enough.

There a youtuber that often talks about herbivore men. He is living in Japan and he actullly already posted here before.
Here are the videos about this subject:

Not all his videos are good (or Mgtow related) but he is the only one so far I found that is actually living there and that is talking about this.

Be carefull though, some of his videos have really bad sound, which means they will be extremely loud on the begining and then normal during the rest of the video (the last video on the list I gave is like that).

I hope this helps. If anyone have more informationa bout them, please share. I am really interested on the herbivore men.

Cheers.

But the one thing we can learn from them is that having stable social relationships is vital to health and happiness. Japanese men live longer on average than any other group of men, and a big part of that is having deep friendships that last decades.

I’ve seen posts on this forum about people struggling with boredom or loneliness. The solution, as someone posted here or the /r/mgtow subreddit, is to become a regular somewhere. Even if you’re an introvert, go out of your way to become a regular somewhere. It will save your life.
