Thanks. I need to also get up to speed on searching the video archives.  I didn’t see any discussion of it on the forum, so I posted it.

I like the part where he says marriage makes people fat, and the woman there goes, “He’s not saying I am fat?” There you go, assume a generalization ALWAYS apply to you.  And care what someone else has to say.

Here he is, giving out lots of insight on what marriage truly is and whatnot, but apparently he is somehow the antagonist. And considering the fact that this whole movie was, in my opinion, a case of “Pro-Marriage” Propaganda, it’s doubly worse to all the guys who watched this movie. “Love always wins in the end”, the movie said, whilst not admitting you can literally flip a coin to whether or not the marriage will end in divorce. “If you don’t get married you’ll die old and lonely” the movie said, somehow implying that marriage is somehow some higher form of relationship, and not just a casual one + a stupid ass contract. That said, this speech (and Michael Douglass’ Performance) was the highlight of the movie for me.

That speech wasn’t devastating enough to really move anyone emotionally. It was mostly rude. Then I realized that in real life women very often overdo their emotional responses for sympathy, and through this perspective the actress does a fine job imitating life.
