Leonard Nimoy died – exactly when I’m not yet sure as the article below doesn’t state that. I grew up with the original Star Trek and have never seen such an original character like he portrayed in Spock. Ruthlessly logical, unflinching, and alone to me he was an original MGHOW. Even when the show had him mating (or attempting to), his brain chemistry was altered due to his genetics, almost as if he were in heat, to explain why he’d ever consider being with a female – sound familiar? Nimoy perfectly portrayed that character and as a consequence became inseperable from him, as most of the main crew of the Enterprise did, but he was an icon to me. And as a male who rejected female advances Spock was continually approached by women and only seldom had a relationship with him but always because his brain chemistry was altered (going back in time on the ice planet caused a regression in his genetics to the ‘before time’, and the seeds from an exploding plant changed his chemistry as well), not because he logically chose to have a relationship.

R.I.P. Leonard and Mr. Spock, I will miss you both.

And Mr. Nimoy did a great job as Paris in “Mission: Impossible” – the video below is a recap of his appearances but I highly recommend you mute the volume because the soundtrack sucks as it has absolutely nothing to do with anything:

update: The video appears to be private, but how did I access it? I dunno – anyway, go to YouTube and search on “mission impossible paris” and the first hit will be the video. MI, the TV series, is my 2nd favorite series from my childhood, eclipsed only by “The Twilight Zone”. I’ve begun recently to watch these MI episodes again on Netflix instant streaming – so much better that the s~~~ TV is plastered with these days, or at least was until I canceled my Directv subscription.

He had a long career, going back to the early 1950s. Watch for him playing a soldier in a command centre in the movie Them!
