I remember when that idiotic song was on the radio.  I hated it then and I still shudder when I think of it.

 

Fortunately, Helen Reddy’s popularity waned soon afterward and, by the end of the 1970s, was largely forgotten here in North America.  Apparently, she wasn’t held in high regard in Australia, either.  A few years after that song came out, I was in grad school.  One of my fellow students was from Down Under and he told me one day that she apparently had been booed off the stage at a concert.
