People are unaware of the factions in the Middle East.There are theocracys(Iran,Saidi for example),and seculiar dictatorships.(Syria Iraq for example) Different cultures Persian Iran and occupied Kurdistan then also about 20 arab states.Arabs and Persians historiicly dont get along.Shias and Sunis also have been at each others throats.
Salifist/Wahabbist Sharia law supporting mostly Arab Saudi Arabia and since the 1970s Sharia law supporting Shia Iran.
Different religous factions on top of political factions on top of tribal factions on top of ethnic factions.All it takes is a match to light it all on fire.

Under any kind of Sharia law there women have to watch their Ps and Qs .Better have a reason to be outside if you are outside and you better be coverd up.If your punishment is a beating or jail or gang rape thats what you get.Dont be parading your ass around because thats bad for society.

Understand that in a lot of the world ,going way back in history,if you win a battle or a war you get the booty.Can be a womans booty or gold silver whatever your enemy has.

Under Saddam in Iraq and the Assad family in Syria attempts at Iranian Shia theoracy and Saudi Suni theoracy were harshly repressesd.You could be a Shia or a Suni or a Christian or a Zoeasterian or a Yazidi but try to force Sharia law in your town or the next and expect that you and your village will be bombed.

And dont try to set up any kind of athority out side of the athority .Your village,town or city will be bombed.

There was a Salifist uprising in the city of Homs in Syria.It was surounded by tanks and artillrry.The Shia uprising in Iraq was squished like a bug.

Great post Mgtowwave, I understand the conflicts in the Mid East, I just don’t like how they are exploited for dubious reasons at best. I would rather stay out of it, and for sure see change with Israel/Palestine. I despise how the U.S. keeps blocking Palestine’s bid for nationhood in the UN.

At the same time society and women place a lot of burden on men there.
During the street protests against the seculiar dictatorship in Egypt a lot of men were hurt and killed.

1 woman decided to join the protest and got her ass knocked out and clothes ripped by security forces.
Soon thereafter Egyptian women protested in the streets chanting Strip me beat me my brothers blood will cover me.They were promising a very overt threat that their brothers would get revenge to the death if the security forces tryed to stop them from protesting.

Eventually the US allied dictator left and the military took over.

That same night some western female reporters were caught in Taharush circles ,raped in public infront of thousands of people cheering the dictators downfall.
When elections happened the Salifist Muslim Beotherhood won the elections and the military again took over the government for a while.

All of this has to do with something called The Arab Spring.A lot of people were just sick of dictatorships.
Some wanted Sharia law.Some wanted to go so far as bring in Salifism.

Groups like people who just want seculiar democracy or Shias,Alawites are like no you keep that s~~~ over there you are not going to be telling me how to pray or what mosque to go to.Small groups like Christian minoritys or other minoritys get squished in the mix.
Meanwhile men are expected to obey what ever local athority says of then.Be it a village elder,tribal leader,the local Imam or whoever.
Women just sit to the side.Rarly willing to put their lives in danger.But sons,brothers,
fathers,husbands had better be ready to prove themselves men.

You know, I could demonize Christian men as well, but I won’t stoop to a level such as you.

I have judged Christians also not just Muslims. There are demons in most religions, well not the religion itself but people who follow the leader. That why some Christians no longer go to church.

I have already watched the video that GGW about the middle east. Not really sure how that accurate it is. I really don’t trust her enough to take her word for it. GGW has selectively left part of history in USA. She isn’t give people the full picture. About Isreal/Palistine.It was really f~~~ed up that the UN thought it could just evict millions of people to just start a new state and government on land where people were already living.Just to tell people hey you get the f~~~ out.You dont live here anymore.If you dont like it well just get the f~~~ out.I would think that kind of thinking went out with the fall of the Ottoman Empire.The Brits,French and Americans should have just helped the Arabs,Persians,Kurds,Sunis,Shias etc to negociate up their own states and left.But they didnt.They had to stick around and a few decades later add another faction to the region.Jews who have their own contentious and quarrelsom factions.
If anything this could have perhaps been negociated after the fall of the Ottoman empire but no they did it after WW2 .Now the state of Isreal is a fact.To a lot of people there it is a huge insult .

All this hassle just because people are disillusioned that all muslims are bad. It might be true that there were sme defects in religion and history as cited in the above posts; but its only dumb to say things like “all muslims are bad” or “all christians are pigs”. We’ve evolved to be smarter than that.

Our people also had our share of religious turmoil. The Indo-Paki war was one of them. When we look back at it, it all seems like a stupid fight over the “my religion is good, yours is bad” issue.

Every religion has defects; nothing and nobody’s perfect; we should not delve in the past and nag each other about the crimes of our forefathers. I only hope we can forgive each other and move on.

I am not sure how you can use democracy and Israel in the same sentence when they have not given 2 million of the 9 million people they control citizenship for 49 years now… That is the ULTIMATE suppression of democracy. Call it what it is, a nationalistic fascist state. They are not called the new Nazi’s in many parts of the world for nothing. Other than that, great post.
