I have been going to Halloween shops and I have to say mens superhero costumes are a joke. I found Superman, Batman, Captain America, Flash, Thor, and Iron Man, but what was the problem? All of them were muscular. I am sure you have seen those types of costumes. They have the built in muscles and they make the costume look awful. They make you look like a joke when you wear them. I tried on a Captain America one from the Winter Solider and it fitted well, but with all the fake costume it made the costume look stupid. It didn’t make me look buff it made me look fat not to mention I gave me boobs. That costume gave me bigger boobs then my 2 female friends I was with lol. Even they said the muscle costumes looked ugly and were stupid. The thing is though they are everywhere. No party store has non muscle Superhero costumes and if you find one online it costs a lot more. It is like costume makers jut assume men want to be a buff version of a superhero no matter how stupid it looks. I did find a Green Arrow costume from Arrow that was not muscular and was only $35 online, but that is part of the problem. No store had it I had to buy it online meaning I have to wait a week for it to show up and try on instead of just being able to try it on at a store. Anyone else feel that adding muscles to superhero costumes is just degrading and makes them look stupid?

If I ever dress up, I go as the Joker. Green hairspray, a little white makeup, black eyes and then I practice saying: “Whaaaaaaaayyyyy sooohhh serioussssss-sah”. (it’s all in the delivery)

Last time I browsed for Halloween costumes, I noticed guys have doctor, Superman, Batman, Robin, Green Lantern, Darth Vader, Green Hornet, Spiderman, Fantastic 4 plastic guy, stabbing victim, Freddie Kruger, mummy, vampire (not Twilight f~~ – the scary kind), Stormtrooper, C3PO, Indiana Jones, cowboy, police officer, fireman, Silver Surfer and the endless list goes on….

Women have whore. And witch.

WTF does that tell you?

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

Make your with other materials or buy a custom costume. Out of all those choice you listed though all of the superhero costumes of those guys were the muscle versions though. The female superhero costumes actually looked more respectable. My friends tired on ones like Batgirl, Wonder Woman, and Supergirl and those actually looked so much better even though they were meant to be more revealing.

As you can see the Captain America and Superman look terrible. The Supergirl is taken right from the comics and while that Batgirl isn’t from the comics it still looks better then the male costumes. I am not expecting movie material costumes, but something better then crappy looking face muscles. I guess I feel like this is the man equivalent of a woman complaining about how female costumes all seem to be slutty lol.

My problem is I spend large amounts of money on costumes. If I were to go as cap I would buy and expensive costume and shield. Usually, home made ones are the best. Over a few Halloweens, I perfected my Jedi costume. Only thing that cost me money was the lightsaber, but I collected and built them anyway. I’ve always wanted to be a Stormtrooper, but to my knowledge the armor alone is $1,200. Add in the helmet and Blastech E-11 (modified British Sten) and then how much have I spent? I do understand your problem, mens costumes are lame.

Exaclty. Find the slutty costume she likes best and done.

Fuck this planet.

I tried to have some custom made costumes of Shazam, Aquaman, new 52 Superman, and Final Fantasy XIV bard made but those were ranging from $440-$800. My Green Arrow costume is on the way and if it looks as good as I hope then I should be good. My Nite Owl II and Ezio costume are still good although Ezio could use a few touch ups and I think I am out growing it in size and my Superman costume is just the version from his early days in the new 52 Action comics: superman shirt, jeans, and cape lol. I did make a Green Lantern costume years ago but is was just a shirt over a black long sleeve shirt, black sweats black boots, green painted bandit mask, and a green lantern ring. I want an actual superhero costumes for conventions and I am not going to a con with a Captain America or Superman costume like that. There is a reason the movie costumes don’t have the muscles because they look stupid lol.

A Stormtrooper may be expensive but a costume like that will get many uses and naturally look good. I know I should expect to pay more for a good quality costume but I would like to be able to go into a shop and buy a decent looking costume for a good price.

My thought is these costumes were designed by the same men who design women’s fashions, or men with the same inclinations.
