(I’ve “saved” a few’ women (from themselves) only to end up suicidal when I was made the “bad guy” who “she”  needed saving from. Love is not sacrificing ur well being for some women.. that is a form of sickness… I don’t know about u guys but I am tired of seeing men symbolically dying or defending women for approval, affection, etc. This was the hardest lesson I have learned.)

Then she’ll pick a guy who is more reliable who may not look like this. I know Tom Leykis call these guys Poindexters. As far as saving goes, I’m done with that myself. Also, these images show that women are superficial as guys are. I don’t get the double standard with this at all.

Yep.  Those books are so formulaic I often wonder if they’re cranked out by machines.  First he “rapes” her, but then she “tames” him.  Usually there’s also some wimpy but upstanding Nice Guy on the side so Ms. Female Protagonist can agonize about choosing between the Bad Boy (with a heart of gold) and the Nice Guy (who sometimes turns out to be the villain after all).  I think the whole appeal of the “rape” in those books is that the women get to have all the enjoyment of sex with the Bad Boy hunk, but without any responsibility whatsoever.  It’s pure narcissistic wish fulfilment for slores.
