A contraceptive “pill” that could provide protection to men could hit the market shelves by 2018. The pill reportedly will provide protection for a continuous period of 10 years and will be the first clinically approved contraception method for men since condoms.

Those in favor of it It will be argued that females already have it paid for. In secret and some may do so out loud (with dire consequences to their reputations) that doing such would reduce the amount of single mothers and thus less hand outs and less jail birds.

Those against will do so for selfish reasons for fear they will lose power. Which they will.  They should be planning a tactical retreat or bargaining table. But they are too emotional and short sighted for that logic. They will argue that a there is also hormonal implications and the pill is not only about birth control. The issue would be cost.  Injecting directly into the Vas Deferense doesn’t sound that straight forward.  Then there’s guys that want to reverse it later after hooking up with the supposed unicorns.

Insurance companies may only pay for the injections for birth control then reversal at a finite amount.  Say one each every two to three years.  Whereas women can go on and off the pills whenever they see fit, or if they think they can shoplift a well monied man’s DNA.

I think we may see women’s rights advocates pairing or at least not arguing with religious and traditionalist groups to block releasing it to the public and insuring this.  Traditionalists will probably fear male contraception.  They desire a return to the ‘old ways’ and that a woman can be a brood mare is part and parcel of their vision of nirvana.

Those who pay child support who are not biological fathers and pay put themselves in that position. Whether they were tricked or decided to become a father to a single mothers children. This will reduce the amount of pregnancies. Now I guess you could argue that stupid people will not use it because they are stupid. But it will still reduce a lot of these false claims and shed more light on to this subject.
