Was born in Las Vegas, NV and currently living rough in Mountainview, CA. I’ve been a MGHOW since around the middle of 2011, when I finally left my mom’s house at the ripe old age of 22. I attended San Jose Job Corps for about 19 months, got a few certifications, notably OSHA, Microsoft, Customer Service, Sales, and Forklift operation certification, none of which I’ve been able to actually put to use yet.

I started working for the California Conservation Corps immediately after leaving Job Corps, worked for them for about 8 months but unfortunately got fired after an altercation at a wildfire with one of my female co-workers who accused me of touching her phone on one very early morning. Luckily I had enough money saved up to pay my rent for about 5 months before the landlord finally had enough of me. Actually, he was a total bro about it and let me crash for a week on his couch before I had to hit the road.

So yeah, I’ve been homeless since January 22nd, 2014 and I’ve gotta say it really isn’t so bad. I’m my own man, I’ve got nobody to answer to, and my mind is clearer than it’s ever been in my life. I’m currently writing this in a cafe that I often frequent (ie spend 90% of most of my days). The only really annoying part isn’t even hygiene (which is incredibly easy), it’s trying to find somewhere to sleep when it’s raining. Oh and people I do odd-jobs for that fail to pay me for my time. Missed out on about $500 because the jerk I helped move his belongings to storage for hasn’t contacted me. Could really use a new pair of shoes, mine are all but torn apart.

Anyway, that’s my brief summary of current events in my life. Hope you enjoyed it.

Regards,
Mikdavman

I’d like to think that very same thing. This experience is most definitely making me a stronger man. I’ll admit, at first I was a little scared, but now it’s basic day-to-day survival, simple stuff.
