I had this happen in a non-family group I was in. I stopped going until she got tired of them and quit on her own.

Try and figure out her greatest fear and then keep hammering it every time she pulls her nonsense. It’s likely to be one of the following – fear of abandonment, fear of loss of control, fear of loss of resources, fear of being exposed, fear of appearing inadequate or inferior. If she is threatening legal action then money may be a motive for her and likely one of her greatest fears. If you can figure out a way to yank her chain so it costs her financially that will probably be very effective. You need to respond as close as you can to the behaviour you are trying to train out of her and keep it up until she stops. You might want to read a book called ‘don’t shoot the dog’.
