So far in my research I haven’t come up with a good solution for keyboard and mouse for couch use. I found this site http://www.nerdytec.com/COUCHMASTER/ but the products appear to be expensive for what they provide.

Currently I’m prototyping solutions with a spare Ikea shelf propped up on pillows but that still doesn’t lead to a comfortable position for “long haul” gaming sessions. My problem is its hard to maintain a reclining position while keeping my hands properly placed for keyboard and mouse use and keeping pressure off of my wrists/forearms.

Does anyone have a good setup or know of one?

They are often made of metal and are like a small 4 legged table on its side. Like shown below…. but with a top twice as long – going across your lap. You would put it next to your recliner and push it in and out so it goes directly under your chair (with the base under your ass and the top over your lap). I had my father make me one years ago. It puts a working surface directly in front of you. No “reaching” required. You can lay back and use it.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.
