Fellow Canadians, an Alberta homeowners needs our help. Rural crime has skyrocketed in Alberta and Saskatchewan over the past few years and is now out of control.
Eddie Maurice of Okotoks Alberta has been charged for shooting and wounding a burglar he caught on his property. For the uniformed, protection of your home and property is illegal in Canada and homeowners looking after each other is the only crime deterrent.
Please consider helping this young guy and his family out by contributing to the FundRazr campaign (or directly via any TD Canada bank). If Maurice loses in this case (trial starting 06 April) he could face serious jail time and possibly losing his home also…

Anonymous1Damn, Canada is f~~~ed up. Michigan isn’t much better though. When I was burglarized the Police told me, if I shoot a trespasser they have to be in my house facing towards me. Otherwise it is not self defense. If some one breaks into my home beats me up and I shoot him in the back on the way out of the house. I go to jail for murder. Its completely f~~~ed.
Anyways, glad to see you posting again man. Welcome back.

I’ve had my car stolen and was hit with a recent ARMED break-in myself. You can’t imagine how ridiculous I felt running down my own driveway chasing after my own car.
Things are as bad as they are because the criminals know that the government prohibits home owners from adequately protecting their own property. The thieves also know that the police cannot/will not respond in time, particularly to rural locations.
Canadian law actually facilitates the criminal and the thieves know this too. Crowd funding to support the homeowner from being re-victimized by the Crown is now the only option that Canadians have…

I’m sorry to hear that. I know how you feel. When I got burglarized I called the Police because my neighbors wanted me to report it. They think the Police will do something about it. I know better.
After about an hour the Police finally showed up. Then they interrogated me like I was a Criminal. I anticipated their attitude though. I hid my shotgun and my small bag of weed before they showed up. Otherwise, I would have been hauled off in handcuffs and put in jail.
The Police would not tell me how many burglaries had happened this year in the neighborhood. I had to ask around town to find out. There was about 12 break ins in my small rural area (according to the statistics we had 0). Incredibly the Police have done nothing at all, but grill the home owners about “how many guns they have” and “why aren’t your guns locked up in the gun safe.”
The Police are not your friends, they are part of the problem. Like you said, the Criminals know this and they take advantage of it.
I now have security cameras all over the perimeter of the house and the inside as well. I don’t like it, but it deters the Criminals. Even so, they know that a Ski-Mask beats the Cameras and with the long police response times, they have at least 15 minutes of in house time after the alarm goes off. They know this full well.

I’m currently in the process of cobbling together a security camera system. But it’s like you say, the thieves know that there are cameras everywhere today anyway. They either wear masks and/or rip the cameras out before breaking-in.
I had a gate across the front of my driveway with steel posts cemented into the ground. During the last break-in attempt, the criminals just bent and ripped the posts right out of the ground using a stolen four-wheel-drive truck.
There are no effective crime deterrents in Canada. The criminals know this and will use that to their full advantage…

That is f~~~ed up. Thankfully, I have never been home when I was burglarized. It’s just insane how the crime is skyrocketing. This little town I’m in used to have almost no crime back in the 1950’s. They didn’t even lock their doors. Fast forward a couple decades and no one feels safe anymore.
I’m paranoid as f~~~ after being burglarized. I get nervous anytime a van or truck pulls into my driveway to turn around. I’m sure you feel the same way. When I’m out in the yard I’m always looking over my shoulder now. That’s how bad it’s gotten.
Last November in Alix Alberta we had a senior who was sliced up pretty good by a pair of home invaders using a machete. The criminals know that the homeowner is prohibited from arming themselves. It is illegal in Canada to keep a firearm loaded and accessible in your home. I really don’t even blame the criminals. They are just taking advantage of a pro-criminal government that supports them…

They chopped a guy up with a machete for a TV and a little bit of cash. That’s f~~~ed up. I used to live in Detroit and I got burglarized on a regular basis for the most petty amounts of money.
Reading these articles you posted reminds of Detroit. That’s sad…Rural Canada is now as f~~~ed up as Detroit.

The police are real good at victim blaming. They like to chastise you and lecture you for not doing enough to deter the criminals. Like it’s somehow your fault that they can’t or won’t do their jobs.
I dunno. How are you suppose to deter thieves who are determined enough to rip a steel gate out of the ground just to access your property?
I gotta give cops some credit though. They seem to be tripping over themselves to arrest and charge the property owner who tries to protect their own home…

Yes, exactly. The Police blamed me. I was actually scared during their walk through. He started grilling me on s~~~ like “Why is the battery taken out of your smoke detector?” “What is that?” “What is this?” It was crazy. I thought I was going to be arrested for something. That is the last time I ever call the Police.
If I catch a burglar, they are going to disappear without a trace. I’m not going to jail for defending my life and property.
Do like the Mexican Mafia does. Burn and burn until you are left with just the bones. Then you bust the bones up with a sledge hammer into dust. Dust is easy to get rid of. Scatter it to the winds.

I have reinstalled the gate to my driveway and now have a security light in the front of the house. I also have a high intensity hand-held spotlight that will light up the whole yard front to back.
I will get up two or three times each night and do a quick look around just for peace of mind. I also intend to install an outside fire alarm bell too that should wake up all the neighbours should I catch anyone breaking in again.
There’s nothing paranoid about it. Several of my neighbours have been hit too. It’s just the ‘new normal’…

I’ve been there too. The police bend over backwards trying to find something to arrest the innocent guy for. It’s like they’re just p~~~ed that you’re cutting into their day.

I’m not sure that I would call the police again in the same situation. I’m now wondering if the cops are deliberately and intentionally trying to foster that kind of attitude…

It’s crazy how times have changed. Growing up in Minnesota, I always had respect for my Canadian neighbors of the north. Every Canadian I met seemed really nice and polite. I always liked the eh (A) they slip into the conversation. I never would have thought there would be such crime especially in rural Canada. Damn, the Wild West is returning in Canada.

I’ve spoken with Americans who had similar sentiments. The ‘nice Canadian’ thing is a myth. It’s B.S.
Canadian society has been degenerating steadily after several decades of predominately Liberal federal governments. The criminals now have a criminal as the Canadian Prime Minister and it’s the criminals who are now in control of and running the country.
I recall reading about one home invasion where the thieves disabled the homeowner’s dog by throwing acid into the dog’s face and eyes. This is the type of filthy degenerate s~~~ that our Canadian government is so keen on protecting and supporting.
It’s like the “Wild West” alright but it’s a Wild West where, thanks to the POS Leftist politicians and their supporters, only the bad guys are armed…

It’s shocking for me too. Growing up in Michigan we had this respect for Canada. Detroit was the hell hole of Crime, but just across the river was peaceful friendly Canada with little to no crime. Now it sounds more like Detroit. Criminals willing to kill for a couple of bucks.
Sad to hear how bad it’s gotten. I had an issue when I lived in Alaska and the troopers literally told me, if it’s something I’m capable of handling, go ahead and do what I need to do. I smiled and said okay! Granted I lived a long way out, took about an hour for them to respond. I never called them again.

Throwing acid on the family dog’s face is unforgivable. The ultimate vengeance needs to be taken at that point. I’m sick just thinking about it. Time to get midevil on those f~~~ers.

His mistake was calling the police.
Also if I was on that jury there’s no f~~~ing way I’d convict.

In some parts of the Canadian prairies, an hour’s response time by the police would be considered record breaking break-neck speed. Due to the soaring rural crime rates, Saskatchewan farmers last year started carrying their shot guns and rifles with them on their tractors, their combine harvesters and (illegally) in their farm trucks…

‘We have guns’: Saskatchewan farmers take up arms after masked men enter land

There was recently the ‘Gerald Stanley/Colten Boushie’ case in Saskatchewan where the homeowner was acquitted by jury of murder by shooting the criminal. But only because the homeowner’s gun discharged accidentally due to an unintentional hang-fire. The homeowner, Gerald Stanley, is still facing weapons charges.
The Leftest MSM created a huge national uproar by saying said that the acquittal was due to a ‘racist’ jury. The Canadian federal government has just announced drastic changes to the justice system, some which will be changes to the ‘peremptory jury selection’ process. The government feels that the jury who acquitted the homeowner, Gerald Stanley, was not sympathetic enough (because of their race) toward the dead criminal (who BTW was himself armed with a loaded rifle when he was shot)…
