I talked about this with a friend recently. He said if he were married and an ex-wife made his life a hell like so many women set out to do …. he would bring a civil suit against her ( for “breach of contract” or whatever ) JUST to drag her through the process, and make sure she ended up with nothing.

He certainly had a point.

If you keep doing what you've always done... you're gonna keep getting what you always got.

FFS it gets worse! The author of the opinion piece is likely my former divorce lawyer, “Elizabeth Knight”!!
Just noticed that… I got a good piece of advice from Liz: sometimes the appropriate response as a respondent is “Nothing”. Not having anything to argue over ruins the legal match. So nowadays I show lawyers the door and give them plenty of nothing.
