It is considered one of the first steps into the military special operations field. While completing the leadership course would let women wear the coveted Ranger tab, it does not let them become members of the Ranger regiment. Currently only men can be in the 75th Ranger Regiment — the special operations forces unit based at Fort Benning, Georgia.

Why are they doing this? Because women wanted access to the status, rank and extra pay without actually having to have the ultimate responsibility. But assuming the statement below is true that the standards won’t be lowered then how many of them can pass, anyway? Or is it possible that simply taking the course is enough in some manner? Anyone here know?

By January 2016, the military must open all combat jobs to women or explain why any must remain closed.

Military leaders have made it clear that they will not reduce standards for any jobs in order to let women in.

Bull-f~~~ing s~~~.

Update: I found this other article that has a lot more detail … I sincerely doubt they’ll even get many applicants.

http://www.military.com/daily-news/2014/09/15/army-calling-for-female-volunteers-for-ranger-school.html

“The standards are not going to change,” said Fort Benning spokeswoman Monica Manganaro. “The Ranger standards are going to be the Ranger standards.”

To be eligible, candidates must be able pass the Ranger physical assessment, which includes 49 push-ups, 59-sit-ups, a five-mile run in 40 minutes and six pull-ups. There’s also a 12-mile foot march in Army uniform, boots, fighting load carrier, patrol cap and a rucksack, “weighing a minimum of 35 pounds [without water] while carrying an individual weapon,” according to an All Army Activity message. There’s also a Combat Water Survival Assessment and land navigation.

I have to see what my retired Ranger friend thinks about this.  He’s going to freak. They always have to end up lowering the standards so that the women can pass and become real Rangerettes.  They get to wear the Ranger badge, but aren’t really Rangers.  WTF???? This is the biggest f~~~ing insult to every Ranger who has ever served.

I’ve known a lot of special ops guys over the years, and I’ve never met a woman who possesses the mental hardness it takes to even contemplate being one.

Lurkers: Women in infantry weaken unit cohesion and effectiveness.

Fuck this planet.

the military must open all combat jobs to women or explain why any must remain closed.

To me it seems that they probably don’t want to but are getting forced to. With that being said if they don’t drop the standard then any woman who completes the course deserves to wear the badge. I just wonder how many will pass.

At the moment they are letting woman have the equality of opportunity. The problems will start when they have to drop the standard to get equality of outcome.

I am not even that good of shape and I know I can do it. If any female can’t pass that, then they don’t deserve anything.

A country that has stolen his money. A country that has stolen his children. A country that has demonized him. A country that has demoralized him. A country that makes him a into a “criminal over child support. A country that will imprison him for simply being poor.

Personally, I have faced the facts in my own life. America has become a totally, utterly, and completely lost cause. America is lost morally. America is lost ethically. America is lost spiritually. America is lost financially. Now, America will have 90 pound girls pretending to be elite, special forces soldiers.

To me, America is like a terminally ill patient who is dying from a genetic defect. Then this patient discovers that he’s also dying of a blood disease. Then he finds out that he’s also dying of cancer. Then he hears that they’ve also discovered that he carries a deadly virus.

At some point I just simply lost hope, and I just stopped caring.

“You SEALS are all sexist to not let a woman have a chance at joining your little macho club!”

No, it’s because 80 percent of all male candidates have failed the SEAL training courses as well ever since it’s founding, you bunch of bitches! I’m torn at the question of having women try for the Rangers course, though. The fact that they WILL lower the standards eventually so that even a crack-whore with one arm could pass all the required tests, or the fact that women can wear the Ranger tab, but not be able to be a part of the team.

Then why even become one of the Rangers at all if you’d just be one on paper???
