After some quick research, I went to Best Buy and bought a new ASUS laptop.

I head to the checkout lane, and the VERY cute checkout girl rings it up, and asks “Do you want to charge this on your Best Buy credit card?”

I said “Nope, I’ll pay cash”, and started peeling off $100 bills.

Her eyes got REAL BIG, and I asked her “What, you’ve never seen a $100 bill before?”

She says “I’ve never seen that many!”, fondling them before putting them in the register (I doubt she counted them).

I said “There’s only one thing better than cash, and that’s MORE cash!”

She says “I use a credit card to pay for stuff.”

I said “So you can spend money that you don’t have?”

She gave me “the look”, and I knew she had MASSIVE credit card debt.

By now, another customer had walked up, so I didn’t have time to ask her what her credit card balance was.

I use my credit card to pay for stuff because I get 1 year extra warranty with my card. I always pay off my card in full when my bill arrives.

Also gave away the points scheme which is a scam anyway so I could get a lower interest rate.

I love the story too, so many people think certain things are expensive but they don’t see how much crap they buy and how much debt they put themselves in for nothing. No wonder they are all broke.

You can pay for something on a debit or credit card and no matter the amount a chick will not even notice. Unless someone told her the amount or she knows its fancy.  But the moment you bring out big bills she wants the Peg D.  She was already thinking about if she was willing to f~~~ you to get some of them.

It's only after we've lost everything that we're free to do anything

You can use them to your advantage. It’s free money you can write off. I’ve been charging credit cards for 10 years transferring balances and using promotional rates, and then when s~~~ hit the fan, I wrote off 45 large like it was nothing. Two years after bankruptcy I have 6 grand of limit and 670 credit score. I charge some bulls~~~ (gas stations?) on cards every month, pay out in full and keep 10% of limit balance (care credit for tooth work). This is the best strategy to game the system.
The key is to not pay any high (over 10%) interest and be smart – this way you are actually benefiting from credit and not getting raped.
I charged a lot of s~~~ (12k wedding, 6k honeymoon, 6k on day care tools, toys) on credit cards and lines and never had to pay for it. Call it free money.
I don’t do it now, because I am no longer married, but people who hate credit cards don’t realize all the tricks you can do with them.

This way if I cannot pay off the what I spent, I instead spent the credit on the account and will not be charged usury.
