I don’t want them to DO anything ‘for’ the people, except provide a modest amount for our national defense. Let’s take that last one and examine it more closely. $738 billion appropriation / US WORKING population of 155 million = $4,761 per capita. Now, I favor a strong nuclear deterrent and some conventional defenses, sure. But not $5,000 per working person. That is almost 2.5% of my annual income. But if I take the average US income of about $45K, that is ONE NINTH OF IT right there! Is spending $1,000 per year per working person on defense reasonable? Maybe. $5,000? No way in hell!

Then I have to pay almost 15% of my income (including the employer contributions) for social insecurity, medicare, and medicaid. Just let me opt out of these last three programs and we’ll call that a Free Country.

I agree about the gun control, but my view is we have gun rights so that the government FEARS the people, not the other way around. You have a second amendment to protect the First amendment, and to protect your PROPERTY from the State. I certainly favor self defense and hunting, but all secondary to your right to protect yourself against an oppressive STATE.

I believe flag burning should not be restricted, it’s all part of your right to free expression and protesting the Leviathan government.

I knew things were going to get bad when they came out with these “Designer laws”
“Buster’s Law”
“Amy’s Law” (there is a few more that I can’t remember at the moment)
These “Laws” are self-entitlement made and supported by Government.
What scares me is these “Designer Laws” can be “manufactured” (if you get my drift) and the public would be more sympathetic to support the new Law.
Think about it—–
A criminal walks into a pizza joint in the city. He wants to rob the place and brandishes an Uzi machine pistol. To gather “courage” for his brazen feat;he gets really high on METH. An off-duty LE man is having dinner there with his kids and decides to end the robbery by himself. “METHMAN” gets the best of him and he guns down 3 tables worth of diners, including LE mans family. “Methman” reloads and makes sure all are dead.
News comes out that 12 ppl are dead including Dominic(the pizza parlor owner)

“Methman” eventually gets caught but due to a few legal technicalities, he gets 2nd murder for LEmman and Manslaughter for the rest. (A Gross miscarriage of JUSTICE has occurred.)
To help calm the issue the Lawmaker of the pizza parlor district wants to pass “JOE DOMINIC’S LAW” (named after “JOE,” the LE off duty, and “DOMINIC” the pizza place owner.
The new law states the outright BAN OF OWNERSHIP of MACHINE PISTOLS of ANY KIND for ANY PURPOSE. The new designer law also puts limits on ownership of ALL HANDGUNS(except law enforcement while on duty) and all rifles chambered above .22 caliber and limited to 4 rounds per clip.
The Designer law gets soooo much sympathy for those who perished that it passes easily with help from favors by other district legislators. Money that poured in pays off the favors.

THE ABOVE IS PURELY FICTIONAL,…… BUT CAN HAPPEN.

Designer laws are a quick reaction to a related incident made to quell the emotion(s) of those affected and gain sympathy from others. Politicians can “spin” these laws later, knowing the emotion and memory of the event that created the law.
LAWS are made to mete Justice, not gain advantage by political Spin.
